TerraZyme is a fabulously exciting product for anyone who struggles with digestive health. We all know someone who suffers from bloating, cramping, pain and discomfort. Intolerances and allergies are common these days and the importance of supporting your digestive system in a natural way is more important than ever.

Specifically tailored to support a healthy digestive system TerraZyme offers powerful enzymes to support the healthy digestion of food.

terrazyme is a digestive enzyme complex

Eating a variety of fresh, raw foods is the best way to get the enzymes you need. however when life is too busy to prepare the raw foods you need for good health, you can rely on TerraZyme™ to support a healthy digestive system.

TerraZyme™ can help support a healthy digestive system by delivering a powerful blend of those digestive enzymes naturally found in raw foods.

The Importance of Enzymes

Our body needs certain enzymes to properly digest the food we eat. But maintaining a diet that is naturally high in the appropriate enzymes can be difficult.

Processed foods or those high in preservatives are often enzyme deficient and even cooking food can sometimes destroy the enzymes we need for good health.

I always wondered why dairy intolerances were so high and after understanding what the processing of milk does to the end product, it’s no wonder why people struggle to digest it.

The first process dairy milk goes through is a heat treatment called pasteurization, this heats the milk to high temperatures, however this processing kills the good enzymes naturally found in milk, the one you may have heard of is lactase.

“Some of the native enzymes in milk are alkaline phosphatase, lactoperoxidase, lysozyme, lipase, proteinase, cathepsin D etc. Many processing technologies including heat treatment destroy many of these enzymes in milk.”” – Feedstuffs

Lactose intolerance is extremely common these days and happens when your small intestine does not make enough of a digestive enzyme called lactase.

Lactase breaks down the lactose in food so your body can absorb it.

Interesting isn’t it!

Step two of todays milk treatment process is something called homogenisation.

The process of homogenisation is two break up the fatty chains so that the milk is uniform in consistency. The milk is forced through small wholes at high pressures, as to break up the fat droplets and to make the milk more consistent.

This process alone is destroying the product. Changing it from its natural form and breaking down it’s components into something that is altered, modified and not how it is meant to be.

When we play with our food this much it is any wonder our body rejects it.

Raw milk however contains all the natural enzymes you need to digest your food, yet these days it is said to be illegal to drink un-pasteurised milk. Yet when you heat treat milk you kill the naturally occurring enzymes that we need to successfully digest milk.

It truly is mind boggling!

What is in TerraZyme?

TerraZyme® capsules contain a blend of seven enzymes as well as herbal ingredients that can help with the digestion of carbohydrates, protein, lactose and fatty acids.

Amylase aids the digestion of glucose, sugar and carbohydrates

Amylase, Protease and Lipase all support and help maintain a healthy digestive system

Protease assists the digestion of protein

Tilactase aids the digestion of lactose

Terrazyme benefits and directions

Lipase helps the digestion of fats, fatty acids, triglycerides and lipids

Cellulase supports general health and wellbeing

Bromelains aids a healthy digestive system and also supports inflammation.

Papain is a proteolytic enzyme extracted from the raw fruit of the papaya plant. Proteolytic enzymes help break proteins down into smaller protein fragments called peptides and amino acids

Mentha X piperita dry concentrate extract, known as peppermint this incredible plant offers digestive support in many ways.

Zingiber officinale root powder, “known as ginge is one of the most widely used natural products consumed as a spice and medicine for supporting nausea, dysentery, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhea, loss of appetite, infections, cough, and bronchitis.” – according to research by the Gastroenterology Research and Practice

Carum carvi extract, the dried fruit of the caraway plant offers great support with indigestion and encouraging a healthy digestive system.

Who should use digestive enzymes?

Anyone who is lacking the digestive enzymes they need to digest their food successfully will benefit from TerraZyme.

The body’s production of enzymes is often enough, though the constant need to produce digestive enzymes can result in decreased levels that lead to digestive and other problems, especially as we age.

Fresh, raw foods naturally contain enzymes that may contribute to proper digestion in the body. Since many of the foods found in a typical diet are cooked, pasteurized, or otherwise processed, food enzymes can become inactive.

You can help reduce the internal demand for production of digestive enzymes by increasing consumption of fresh foods and by using doTTERRA TerraZyme®.

FAQ – What is the Difference between the US TerraZyme and AU TerraZyme?

Regarding TerraZyme, one of the primary differences between the two products is the Anti-Gluten Enzyme Blend in the US version doesn’t appear on the Australia or New Zealand TerraZyme labels.

However, this is just an issue with how the product is labeled. The Anti-Gluten Enzyme Blend is a combination of proteases that are blended prior to being added to the product.

Australia and New Zealand don’t allow such an unspecific term to be used in product labeling, so the proteases of the Anti-Gluten Enzyme Blend are included in the total amount of protease in the product.

There’s additional protease indicated on the Australia and New Zealand label that isn’t on the US label—this increased protease is primarily the Anti-Gluten Enzyme Blend.

Also included in Australia and New Zealand TerraZyme is Bromelain, which isn’t part of the US TerraZyme formulation. This natural enzyme source is rich in proteases that help the body process proteins, like gluten, into amino acids.

Alpha-Galactosidase isn’t on the new Australia and New Zealand TerraZyme label. Instead, this version of the formula contains Tilactase, an enzyme that’s a more targeted Beta-D-Galactosidase, which catalyses certain sugars into monosaccharides.

Finally, it’s also worth noting that the Australia and New Zealand TerraZyme contains three times more Lactase than the US TerraZyme to help effectively process lactose, as well as more Amylase to help break down starches better.
